Ear Candling is a safe, non invasive and relaxing way to remove built up ear wax. The result of this procedure also has many other health benefits that I have witnessed, as well what has been documented by others. I have treated many people and a few domesticated animals over the years, since being trained by a registered nurse in 1997. Since that time, I have integrated it into the repertoire of what I have to offer to the community and my family. I have trained families how to do it, as well as other practitioners who have gone on to integrate it into their practices, helping their patients and clients.
I believe in the health benefits and results I have experienced from being a recipient, and from what I have witnessed through the patients I have treated. Through my own personal experience, my itchy internal ears transform into a feeling of being more open, and receiving the treatment has prevented and turned around the severity of ear infections for me in the past. In his 90’s, my grandfather used to request treatments, claiming he could hear better afterwards. Out of the dismay of my veterinarian, I once treated one of my cats and pulled out little black things that looked like mites. I have worked in the past with a local chiropractor, Dr. Sunny Kirsten, who also believes in the benefits, and has recommended her patients to me. I had one patient in particular, who suffered from Tinnitus, ringing of the ears. For over 20 years she had tried everything she knew to rid herself of the problem. After a series of treatments from me it completely went away.
Ear candling may offer multiple Benefits. It can remove bacteria. Can improve hearing, smell and taste sensations. Can release blocked energy creating more balance and relieve pressure points of tension. It can relieve tinnitus (ringing in the ears), helping to relieve sinus pain and pressure, removing excess wax build up, assisting with relieving Swimmers` ear, assisting with headaches, relieving severely itchy ears (often caused by yeast, mould or dairy allergies) and helping to unplug ears (often due to illness). Other potential benefits may include improved lymphatic fluid flow through the body, improved color perception, a more balanced emotional state and clearer thinking.
It has also been reported that those who partake in ear candling experience an improved sense of taste as well as reduced pressure, which may be present in the ears due to a wax build up or infection. Claims have also been made that they are able to assist with purifying the blood. Others have reported experiencing a relaxing and soothing effect on the mind and body after an ear candling session.
Ear Candling in Cancer Therapy – According to Patrick Quanten MD, United Kingdom, and Greg Webb RMT, Canada, Ear candling may be of benefit to cancer sufferers by mobilizing the immune system, increasing lymphatic drainage and enhancing positive mood chemicals. All of the openings in the head are connected in a maze-like system, allowing the vacuum created by the ear candle to drain the body by osmosis through the ear membrane. This is believed to create a sense of all-over well-being in the body.
Keep in mind that each individual responds differently. You will only discover how your body reacts to the treatment by trying it. I do not claim that they cure these conditions, only that it will help to bring balance and promote healing.
What does it involve?
This involves inserting a lighted, long cylindrical hollow shaped candle made from fabric coated with beeswax, into the ear, and lighting it on the other end. Heat produced from the candle helps to gently draw out excess ear wax and other debris which may be present in the ear canal. It creates a vacuum in the ear canal which draws out excessive earwax and any minor impurities which may be present. I am very particular to use the highest quality cones on the market. The ones I use are Wally’s.
One reason that ear candling is better than ear syringing is because it draws out the wax; whereas, syringing involves shooting water into the ears. This can lodge wax particles further inside the ear canal and cause infection if water stays lodged inside the ear.
What to expect in your session?
Ear candling combined with gentle lymphatic drainage massage to the face and neck using healing oils and or lotions, the lymph fluid flows more quickly, releasing toxins out of the body. I ensure the procedure occurs in a safe manner. The flame stays contained, and no wax from the candle ever goes inside. I use all natural herbal bees wax candles. Patients lay on a warm massage table in a warm room covered with a blanket. This is a very relaxing procedure, lulling people into a deeply relaxing state, and most of the times patients fall asleep. After the candles are used, we can cut them open to see what’s inside. Some of what we will see is some of the candle itself, as well as what has come from your body.
Do not attempt ear candling too soon after any form of ear surgery or if you have a ruptured eardrum, cysts in the ears, cochlear implants, mastoiditis (infection of the mastoid bone behind the ear) or tubes (grommets) inserted in the ears.
Although natural health and history begs to differ, the FDA claims that ear candling has no benefit whatsoever, and that it is even hazardous to one’s health. Due to this, it may not be promoted as being beneficial to one’s health or for healing purposes. In fact, the US has even gone so far as to declare ear candling deemed for medical purposes as illegal.
